Applicability
ESIC registration is applicable:
- For every Factory engaged in industry employing 10* or more employees in the covered area.
- For every Establishment having 10* or more employees in the covered area.
Note:
- ESIC registration has to be done within 15 days of employing 10* or more employees.
- For counting employees, employees paid salary in the books of Accounts need to be considered.
- If a company had 10* or more employees in the past but has down-sized, it is still required to register and contribute to the EPF scheme.
