Professional Tax (PT) is a tax levied on all employees by the State Government basis their income slab. PT registration is required for all employers. Employers are required to deduct the tax from employee salaries and deposit it to the relevant local authority. Know more about this compliance here.

  • Applicability

    PT registration is appicable:

    • If employing salaried employees: PTRC (Professional Tax Registration Certificate) must be obtained.
    • If self-employed professioanal: PTEC (Professional Tax Enrollment Certificate) must be obtained.

     

    Note:

    • PF registration has to be done within 1 month of employing any salaried employee or starting the practice. 
    • Multiple registrations may be required for each office/branch offices if they fall under different zones.
